while driving home ,1/2 way through a 300k trip ,the car lost power and showed the TCL and engine lights!
limped to the next town some 10k away,
had a break, decided to try sport shift,
started car TCL light went out !
drove home with no issues ,with the sport shift, engine light remains on ???
is the battery stuffed ? or do I have other issues ?

Yep, sounds like battery to me.
The 380 is very sensitive to battery condition and will throw a hissy fit if the battery is a bit dodgy.
Rule of thumb is to replace the battery with a new one every four years, and yours could be well over four years old by now.

Could be a wheel ABS sensor going faulty.

I can only share my TW experiences but I've had check engine and TCL errors can't remember if ABS was on and maladjusted TPS for the check engine, APS replaced for the TCL which is just starting to be very intermittently fault again on the TW. For them to fault find my car when in wty I had to get the TCL to fault and then take it down as it quite often reset and cleared when i turned the car off.

380 is different mate. It's all done by wheel sensor pulse count.

I clean mine out every year, they seem to attract metal filings from road debris and or disc wear material and it seems to clog up the air gap between the sensor and teeth.

blow compressed air on and see what happens?

engine light went out on its own accord today ???
so all back to normal,
would the tcl light trip the engine light?
or would they be separate issues

yep check engine light would be reported.

the codes will be logged next time you read them.
the code will tell you exactly which bit is/was broken/intermittent.

next service at the dealer ask them.

I should add that if you disconnect the battery between now and the next service the fault codes will be lost.

From my own recent experience, the engine warning light will come on if you have trouble starting (crank with no start, stop, re-crank and start, etc), goes out after a few days if there are no further start troubles.

found tthe issue, while driving to perth from my home 300k away ,100k into the trip car went into limp mode, managed to get to perth,
rang the car yard i purchased the car from, and they got the car and assessed it,
the accelerator sensor was fitted out of alignment when built , and got to the point where it was not making proper contact , only arcing some times!
it was replaced and is all good!
they said this is only the second car they have ever seen, with this fault,
as a mitsubishi dealer,
they sold my car new.
they replaced the lights as there was a recall some time ago, which this car did not get !
found when car hishory was looked at on their records !
total cost $0
and repaired in 4 hours!
car yard is
john hughes perth
can not praise the service enough!

It's always good to find a decent place to get work done. Kind of restores your faith in dealers. Congratulations.
