Hey guys, this is my first post.
I recently got a 97 kf ei verada, the interier trim is grey and I'd like to change it all to wood grain.
I was wondering how easy it would be to change it all, where I could get it and roughly how much it would cost
Thanks

Hi Morgan & welcome to the forum

Yes, being a verada, you can change over to Xi spec trims & thankfully, for the most part, it's quite straight forward. The window switches pop in & out & you just unplug the loom plug, then plug in the new woodgrain window switches & pop them back in.

With the centre console shifter piece, you can remove the bin from your centre console lid and from underneath put your hand in until you reach the underside of the shifter console & pop it up. Carefully pry the rest of it putting your fingers underneath where you are popping out so the the console fillet doesn't flex too much until it all unclips. Hinge the fillet piece up a little so it detaches from beneath the ashtray.
When putting in the new wood grain piece you just reverse the procedure.

The centre console fascia will be the most difficult, so allow some time to take it steady.
Remove the the ashtray compartment by opening the tray & with both hands cradling the underside and with your thumbs pushing on the face, pop the ashtray out. That's how it is for the KH/KJ model & I'm pretty sure the KF is the same (just check on the bottom of the ashtray face to make sure there aren't any philips screws that may need to be removed first) then go to the driver's side footwell & to the left looking up, locate the cable that opens/closes the centre vent and unclip it so you can then pop & slide out the centre air vent. You may need to remove some of the trim pieces to to get to it. With a flat head screw driver (preferably with some electrical tape or something similar to prevent scratching) very carerfully wedge it between the centre console facia and the airvent, work on one corner, then the other corner as you'll need to pop out the air vent as its held in by recessed clips. Once you've popped out the airvent, carefully slide it out (the vent cable will be attached to it) you'll then see the 2 x mushroom head screws on either side securing the centre console fascia. Unscrew these & carefully pop out the centre console fascia by hand.
You'll have to unplug the stereo & climate control modules & ashtray, then carefully slide out. Unscrew the the Climate control module & stereo module & fit onto new woodgrain Xi fascia console.
For installation of new fascia, reverse the above procedure

You can try ebay with keyword search "KF Verada Wood Grain" as there are several sellers that will be wrecking veradas so it shouldn't be too difficult to find someone that will sell you the set. In very good used condition, you should be able to pick up the switches, centre console shifter & centre console fascia for around $200 or less.

The adminstrator of the forum owns one of the best mitsubishi specific used parts/wrecking business so they may have a KF verada Xi for wrecking in stock.

Just be aware that if you do decide to get items from multiple sources, there are woodgrain colour & texture differences in the later KH/KJ models. So you would be better off getting the woodgrain set off the one car if you can.
Having said that, I'm pretty sure the Xi spec KH/KJ inserts fit a KF Verada Ei also, but another forum member would have to confirm that.

Detach the cable for the middle vents from near the footwell next to centre console...

Yeah, that was already mentioned. Important one so it's good that it's emphasized.
