Hi guy's. I recently bought a brand new heater core to suit a TJ. It was a genuine item in it's box. The box had the Mitsubishi sticker on it with the part number.
My question is, should the actual heater core itself have a part number stamped on it, as I cant find any numbers to confirm if it is genuine or not.

unlikely, may be a locally sourced item? , Calsonic?
Here's a shot with CAL on a sticker

My new core doesn't have the foam around it. Is this something that you have to buy separate, or should a genuine item already have this on ?

Looks like you have to add the seals, elbows and weather stripping yourself.
Any hardware shop will have it.

The genuine replacement ones don't have foam around it like the one originally fitted. Get a roll of open cell adhesive foam stripping from Bunnings and attach it yourself.
