I posted in the WTB section without any luck and I'm wondering if maybe my quest is better suited by asking 380 drivers.

I live in the US and own a 2007 Galant which I want to look more like a 380 VRX. I've been told the mounting holes line up with the bumpers from the 380 and things like lights and the spoiler swap over. I've been digging through stuff the better part of a month and contacting various businesses with no luck. I'm really wanting the front bumper and the rear spoiler. If possible the rear bumper and the chrome trunk strip as well. I'd love the lights, but I know it would go over my budget.

Talking to Australian Mitsubishi they told me they can't sell direct to me because of safety regulations in the US. Wreckers in Australia either don't reply or tell me they don't have anything I need. I'm not really sure what resources to look into past this. Websites seem to carry nothing for 380 body pieces.

Any advice would be really helpful as I feel this is a dead end road unless I wanted to take a vacation to Australia and get the parts myself.

The parts are around, but, the cost of transportation will be horrendous.

I sent a spoiler to the US for a guy a while back...DHL charged $620 for the freight.

Whoa, I figured it'd be like 1-200. 600 is the bulk of a plane ticket there. I might as well just plan for a vacation there and paying the extra for baggage.
Another question while I'm at it: Does Mitsubishi sell the parts new or do you have to get this stuff from salvage yards?

Also wondering are there websites or anything I can get these parts from or is it literally I have to know someone there and they buy it and ship it to me?

Yep plane ticket is your best bet.

I flew over to LA, went to a wreckers yard and brought back an Endeavour fuel tank and rear axle drive train assembly as luggage (150kg).

Even the 750 bucks excess luggage was cheaper than the freight and onerous cleaning conditions I was quoted.

I would not recommend doing that!

Unfortunately postage/freight across the Pacific is prohibitively expensive for a multitude of reasons. It's actually sometimes cheaper to send something between USA and Oz via a friend in Europe.

Shipping by sea is out of the question, is it?

Can you do that? I wouldn't mind the wait if it was cheaper. My main issue is where to get the parts as a US guy though. I dont even know where to start. Then past that is shipping issues/cost.

He's a Mitsubishi specialist and wrecker in Melbourne. He can probably help you with the parts depending on what he has in stock, but you'll probably be on your own sorting out the transport.

You would need to employ a local agent to obtain the parts for you, and organise the shipping.

I can't see anyone volunteering for this though, unless you are prepared to pay big bucks for the work - depending on the difficulty in sourcing good quality parts as well of course.

Duhhhh...the tank was flushed with an expectation of a customs query.
And it was declared as an empty fuel tank.

So your concerns ignored as always.
