Heyy Guys,

Just over two weeks ago i bought my first car (currently 17)

it's a Mitsubish Magna Sports TJ 2002 Black and i scored it for 2K (Awesome buy)

i was going to get a Commy or a xr but i thought why not something different to be unique etc so i found this beauty.

i have done a full clean inside and out, and the exterior every weekend.....

there's a minor ding on the right hand front fender and the bumper has the paint entirely removed.... might try a DIY repaint LOL but does any one know where i'd be able to find those two parts in Canberra(ACT)/Yass/Goulburn/Qbn area??

i have some carbon fiber coming in the mail and some LED lights so these should arrive soon and i will update this thread with some pics.

i will be vinyl wrapping the middle console pieces, door trim pieces and others. The Dash, side mirrors etc i will be getting Hydro Dipped :) it'll look sick

the only thing custom in this ride is the headunit LOL.... and a steering wheel cover???

my future plans/mods/customization are:

New Tail lights
Fog Lights
LED Boot and Door Skirts
two 12" subs probs SONY XPLOD and a Nakamachi AMP?
Boss kit for steering wheel (not really a plan just a meh why not)
Sanding back the Stock rims and painting them a nice Gloss black?? have an airgun and acc to do this or buy 4 or 5 Speedy Wheels Sienna 16 (Black) rims
Front Headlights
Hydro Dip Spoiler or a new spoiler
VRX Front Bumper
and an INT revamp

these are not all 100% want to do but these are my plans :)

im new to owning a car and know a minor amount about Mitsubishi being a holden fan

Cheers

Nice pickup!
The sports is the right model. Climate control, power windows, well thought out interior design (colours)..

As for the modifications:
-It's illegal to put on a BOSS kit. The car has an air-bag.. perhaps just get a nicer looking steering wheel.. like a 'MOMO' style? (See picture below, taken from the member Rush's car. The silver bit can be found in red, silver or black)
-Just scrap the wheels.. the sports wheel design is commonly looked down upon. Get a nice other set like some Evolution 7 wheels.. that way you can spray them before they go on the car.
-The sunroof, if factory and not aftermarket is an awesome option.. There aren't many cars with it!
-The car already has foglights? If you are going for EXTRA lighting I would recommend an LED light bar somewhere. That would be fun!

Toff...enjoy yourself and have fun with your new Mitsu. You're going to learn a heck of a lot about cars in general working on your new purchase AND you'll end up with a nice ride. Take it from me... A good Magna from the early and mid "noughties" runs rings around Commodores and Falcons from the same era. Keep in the back of your mind that these cars, when exported to the US, were meant to compete with the likes of BMWs. They really were/are a quality car.

I've had youngsters in my family stir the crap out of me about driving "an old man's car" ...they called my cars (I have two Magnas) "cardigan cars". That was until I let them drive the car (under my watchful eye) on a straight stretch of country road. Afterwards they realised how hugely they'd underestimated Magnas. Some of your mates might be the same...they'll learn. :)

Funny that. I bought my KJ Verada AWD last year, the bloke selling it liked it better than his Commodore but his wife reckoned it was a 'granddad's' car. I said that was fine as I was a granddad. I'd never considered a Magna as I'm not fussed on front wheel drives and have always liked Holdens but when the AWD came up I went and checked it out as I like things that are a little unusual. Upshot is that I love the car now. Picked it up for $2300 with 136,000km on the clock.

With the steering wheel. The same style is used in the later model Veradas as well so you may be able to pick on up from wreckers. The one in my old KW GTVi AWD was all black.

and bought some carbon fiber vinyl just for a test, was alot harder than things i've wrapped before (phones, ipad, laptop, computer parts) but the car parts were so tedious :G :( :E

After cleaning my car a few times i notice that no matter how hard i try to clean the Rims there's always going to be break dust there though the parts i clean thoroughly get covered in the dust just as bad within a couple of days. I'm new to cars but personally the amount of dust seems alot more than there should be and no i haven't been doing skidz. Does anyone know what this mean are the brake pads worn out??

It just means the pads used are black dusty type. Most euro cars are like that.
