Okay, i have been on here before but the problem has arrisen again. so what happens is the car clunks going into gear (drive or reverse) in drive it does not shift out of 3rd (take off in third) even the semi auto option thingy doesnt work. neutral light flashing. it is my mothers car, she has just had the transmission replaced along with the oil. drove good for 3 fair drives (about 8 hours) and then started doing the same thing. so i want to know why is it doing it and how do i fix it? any info is appreciated.

ran fine for the 8 years mum had it then started to go then it went into limp mode, mum took it to our mechanic (know him personally) but she just said it transmission stopped working so he got another second hand and same thing, not always in limp mode but is most of the time. if it isnt the transmission can you please name all the options it could be and how to check each one

Have you checked the heater core is not leaking?
From what I remember it can leak onto the computer for the transmission making it malfunction

Check for heater core leak. I had this exact problem and it happened 2 years after the heater core was replaced. The coolant soaks into the carpet and there is a small relay that eventually corrodes and can cause the limp mode symptom. In my case it was an easy fix, a $20 relay...
