Once again, my good ol' Verada is having is share of problems again.

Not long ago, out of the blue a short hose leading from the under the throttle body to what I'm imagining is where the thermostat lives decided to crack and burst, replaced it straight away and no dramas.

Tonight however, similar deal, driving along, notices steam rising out from the bonnet, no change in the temp gauge however, pulls over regardless of what the gauge says, I see coolant quite literally flooding out of what appears to be again, near where i assume the thermostat sits (cylindrical grey looking metal tube with 2 small hoses leading out of it towards the throttle body. correct me if I'm wrong) I immediately took the car home and left it. If I'm right, i believe the gasket for the thermostat has gone, who knows, i don't know. Probably have some coolant hoses burst somewhere too.

If anyone has any other ideas on this, please let me know, because I'm clueless.

A hose that wasn't checked in the last service perhaps?
Being an older car, is possible these failures are time & wear and tear related. If you have the funds spare, best to get cooling system checked over and replace all hoses, thermostat and water pump if they haven't been done for a while then get radiator flushed and pressure tested for peace of mind.

old coolant hoses become soft and collapse when hot
if you think the clamps/hoses are suspect renew
check for corrosion at the clamping points

check the thermostat housing and a new gasket .....wont hurt
