I need to get a new exhaust for my TS magna (2.6 4cyl) what would be the best exhaust for my car?

possibly the best system is a mandrel bent 2" system with a hi-flow muffler on the back of it. the lukey LR2779 (im sure it is) is a good choice for the muffler. this is a system that u would want if u are NOT going to wanna get alot of power out of the engine. that is, its a system that suits the backpressure of the stock engine.

if u have the cash, u could always purchase a set of extractors to go on. u should c a slight performance increase with the muffler itself and also, the extractors will also give performance a slight lift. u could try a set of 'Genie' extractors, ive heard these are quite good.

hope this helps

Thanks TM-SE-RED for the advice. How much do you reckon the lukey LR2779 will cost me.

yeah I wouldn't recommend using anything bigger then 2.5" for your piping. In fact i wouldn't recommend using 2.5" either. My piping is 2.5" and my low down torque is worse then when I had my stock exhaust :doubt:

i was thinking maybe staying with the stock size would be best. Can you get 2.25" mandrel bent piping tho?

the stock (1.75" im pretty sure) is restrictive to keep noise down on a stock family vehicle. getting a 2" mandrel bent exhaust with a hi-flow muffler and headers frees it up ALOT more. you will be surprised with how much u get out of doing a full exhaust system. of the 3 people i have heard of getting 2" mandrel bent piping and all else i just mentioned, they were EXTREMELY happy with the note it had and also the performance increase. next after the exhaust is to add a cam to the mix, which will make the most out of that exhaust.

ive also spoken to someone who got a 2.25" exhaust and they believed it to be slightly too big for their car. (all cars ive mentioned are 4 cyls). for a 3.0L 2nd gen, you should look at a 2.25" mandrel bent system minimum :D i wouldnt bother about hi-flow cats, they don't do enough for what u pay for them. thats my advice :)

i was pretty sure that the TR/TS came with 2.25" standard exhaust?
anyone confirm or deny?

My TS v6 has a 2.25 inch size exhaust and its standard. I measured it with one of those rulers that you use to measure the diameter of pipes and things like that (has those prongs on it) when we had it on the hoist at my friends workshop. Oh and that was measured either just after or just before the CAT, i can't remember which one it was sorry.
