I'm Baaack.
I was leaving a carpark and the right drivers wheel rubbed up against the kerb.
Now when I turn the steering wheel to the left there is a rubbing sound. I can't see anything at first glance without getting under it.

I was just hoping someone may have an idea what to look for as the bodywork doesn't appear to be rubbing on anything and it appears to be coming from under the bonnet rather than anything else.

Could be the kerb has damaged or dislodged the splash guard under the engine and it is rubbing on the tyre when you turn.

- but I'm guessing, dive under the car and have a look.

yeah I looked for that but couldn't see anything because it is all sealed. I will have to wait a couple of hours for the weather to cool down a bit before getting under.

Found the problem. I tried to stick the trolley jack under the front but it wouldn't go under the bod mod. When I got down at the side to stick it under I could see a bit of metal sticking up under the wheel arch. Closer inspection revealed it to be the strap that goes to the side of the bod mod and the plastic rivet had come out as the hole it goes into was torn. That probably got torn when I ripped the whole front off backing out of the mechanics lift when getting the tow bar put on.
Anyway for now I have just twisted the strap up out of the way and problem solved for now. It goes for rego next month so I will get the mechanic who refitted it to sort it out then.

Good though, had the car for about 16 months and never had to do a thing with it except put petrol in.

Cheers,

Sarah
