So as has happened to several people in the past, my wife's ZH outlander's bluetooth module decided to give itself a passcode, locking us out of the handsfree system.

After many months of trawling the internets, I have found the unlock procedure and will share it here for others.

NOTE: THIS WILL ONLY WORK WITH THE STANDARD RADIO/CD PLAYER, NOT MMCS

1. Switch ignition to ACC
2. Power off the CD/Radio
3. within 60 seconds of step 1 press in the following order:

CH1 button
Rewind Button
Fast Forward Button
CH4 Button

The info screen will then display "HFM DIAG"

4. Press and HOLD the DISP button for 3 seconds until "UNLOCKED" is displayed.

Hands Free System is now unlocked and ready to use again.

5. Power on your audio system.
