Hey guys
Whats the trick?
From the feels of it the bonnet cable has broken where it attaches to the bonnet latch.....
Not knowing this I closed the bonnet....now cant get it open....
Im stumped as to how to do it, whats the trick to getting them open in this situation?

Depends on the model, shape of bumper bar.
Look from underneath and see if you can visually find the latch. Splashguard may need removing.
Look through the grille and see if the latch is accessible with a big screwdriver.
Get someone to lean on the bonnet to take the pressure off the latch when you do get to the point of trying to open it.
Good luck!
If you do get it open, and the cable is broken, attach a stiff wire to the latch and bring the wire out the side from under the bonnet. Pull on that to open. It's a temp/ghetto fix, but at least you will be able to drive the car.

Should have stated more info....lol....sorry Max
Car is KJ Verada....cannot access latch through grill.....took undertray off only to find cooler pipes in the way, lever, is "hidden" by another piece of metal that pretty much looks like it was designed to stop people ooening bonnet from underneath.....impossible to reach up and get to latch lever....
Current plan (thankfully it helps to have another 3rd gen wreck that I can open the bonnet on...yay, free cable...) is tovmake up a pole with a angled piece on the end, somehow feed it into position and use it as a lever....I cant see any other way.....
Hopefully someone knows of an easier way

Yeah it should be possible to make a tool that you can feed up to unlatch it. Good thing you have another car that the bonnet opens on to go off.
