It can be done.. i did myne it took awile but (a day, a couple mates and a slab of beer) we did it the proper way and pulled the whole interiour out, it was a pain in the arse but we only broke 1 clip so that went ok :P I used about 6 cans of VHT vynal dye, they were on special for 11 bucks each :). It worked good and lasted awhile but in some spots it started to come off but didnt take much to touch up. BTW: my dash was blue.

I know of a type of interior paint for vynl and another of the same brand for upolstry. I'm not sure on the name but from what i saw after it was applied ( the interior of a VB commy ), i wouldn't recomend it. Like i say to everybody, spend the extra couple of $ and have it done by the pro's. You get exactly what you want without the hassles and get a warranty.

not a problem getting it done and yes vht vinyl spay is the way to go there is a vinyl dye out there but i havent used it. To make sure it bonds to your trim prep it with metho first same goes with bunbers and side mouldings just soak a clean rag with metho rub it in then rub it off in small areas do that two or three times as people put silicone polish.furniture polish and also armerall so you wanna make sure all that crap is off or you could be looking at a very time consuming strip job i have done this and it never came off oh also i was a spaypainter for 4 years

the TR I currently have has a Black dashboard. The front door trims were also black when I got the car (including the fabric inserts). The bottom half of the dash and console were pretty badly scuffed and the original blue was showing through everywhere. I removed all the bottom half of the dash and repainted it with cheap australian export matt black :D . It was very dull so i polished it up with armorall and it came up beautifully. I also highlighted the top of the console, stereo and heater surrounds in silver as well as the trim across the centre of the dash, around the instruments (behind the perspex) and vents.
I replaced the door trims and steering wheel with grey ones and the colour lines along the dashboard/door trim jam looks ok but with blue it looked awful.

Trav - don't you remember mine??
I done mine over the course of a week - just to give the primer / paint / etc proper time to cure.
Some photos of what I did with my TH.

Not the plastic inserts, the actual Grey Dash. Any monkey can do the plastic bits.

I remember doing the old TN about a year and a half ago.
Easy as pie. :D
I dont trust anybody else ripping appart my car (appart from mates). Strathfield installed the head unit and left out 4 screws off the centre console and didn't even line it all up to fit flush. Lazy Plicks

I used white knight vinyl guard. It's crap...dont use it. lol
Use the VHT stuff that's the bomb.
Just take it slowly and try not to do it all in one go.
