Hi all, I replaced the distributor oil seal on my KJ, I got one from the Mitsubishi dealer, but I had concerns when I fitted it as it wasn't a tight fit when I fitted it to the distributor, and I think it may still be leaking. Anyone that replaced one of these is it suppose to be tight fit? I though it should be. cheers

clean the area, and then check if it still leaking. The one I fitted was fine. Or, remove the dizzy and check the seal again. Surely that would already be apparent.

I found the groove where the seal sits into was full of built up carbon, took a little time to clean it all properly but well worth the time it took.

No not a tight fit - I used a very light coating of oil on the shaft and the seal slid up the shaft - ie: it wasn't so tight it tried to roll inside out as it moved
O rings are really supposed to fill a gap when the metal bits are tightened so should be "snug" but not stretched.
