Well I've tried how to remove dome light, how to remove interior light, how to change dome light globe, and many more different variations and just canna find the answer.
Please post how to remove interior/dome light cover 380 so that I can replace with LED.
I think it is just yank really hard, but do not want to break anything.
Also is it the same for the map lights?
Apologies if there is a thread that I canna find.

Hi Captain Vines I used a plastic trim removal tool which you can get in a kit for around $20.00 - $30 from an auto parts store its held in with the clips otherwise the old fashioned flat head screw driver wrapped in a cloth will also do. the map lights are the same held in tight with clips. there is a3 80 workshop manual available on the forum don't have the link at hand do a search or can be purchased on Fleebay for around $10 for the CD version that explains and has diagrams of the trim pieces etc. very useful and has gotten me out of some troubles and saved some coinage over the years. Hope this helps its pretty easy and the LED's do look much better and classy.

Going by memory here, but you don't need any tools at all, just stick your fingers between the edge of the console and the roof trim, one hand each side about 4 cm in from the rear corner, and yank down hard. As long as your fingers aren't too fat you can squeeze them in around the edge of the console. Four metal clips and yes they are very tight and you have to tug pretty hard to release them. This is the front light console I'm talking about. For the rear light dome it's as Jazzy says, lever the cover off with a trim removal tool or a small flat blade screwdriver wrapped in cloth.

I have changed mine to LEDs too!!!
* For the middle dome light you need something thin to remove the "glass" (not the holder), I used the plastic trim removal tool, insert it between the holder and glass and pull the glass down.
* For the map lights you need to pull down the hole thing i.e. map lights together with the sunglass holder as one unit, did same thing used the trim removal insert it between the roof liner and the holder and pull down. From memory you need to first pull down the side that faces the back of the car for both of the dome and map lights.
If you still can't do it let me know and I that some pic to show you..

Thank you all for the replies.
Have downloaded the manual, but couldn't find the right section. Will look through again.
Will try over the weekend and see how I go.

Hi Mitshu473,
Have purchased some trim removal tools on EBay so have to wait until they arrive.
Question for you.
Have you done you number plate lights yet?
on this forum I read that they are the same as the map lights, however when I replaced one and tested it, it worked all right but there was a screaming sound
in the dashboards. Only did one not both.

yes I've done the no. plates, front parking light, interior dome and map, brake lights and need to check why my boot light is not working, other wise I have a cob strip ready to be installed in the boot.
the only once that you need to be carful which once you buy are the brake tail lights and the amber indicators lights as these need to be "error free" due to cruise control and blinking too fast.
But I've never hear of any "screaming sound" !!!???
The only light buzzing noise I have is from the amp that I installed when the radio is off. it's doing that cos it switches on with the key and not the radio, will fix that once I have money to buy the audio processor....

....
Which ones did you find for brakes/tail and blinkers?
All that I have tried have either/and caused the dash and hence park lights to come on when brake is used or cause cruise control to drop out when lights are on due I guess to cross feed

I need to look for the photo I took of them when I bought them (2 years ago), there on the other pc but if you search for taillights with error free you should find some
