Coming up to brake time for my front pads so reconsidering which way to go.

Question for those that have converted big brakes (that is 330mm and the like, not 380 jobs):

Originally I was keen on doing some track days and was as such planning a BBK conversion on the front, brembo or k-sports.

However haven't made a track day yet and while I will make sure I eventually do at least one, it seems obvious they won't be a regular occurrence.

So now I am wondering if I should just keep the 380 fronts I have fitted at the moment.

Have people found any pro's and con's with the BBK's, especially for majority street use?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Not sure on the BBK (I assume you are talking about Stopteck) units to be honest however when I do brake conversions other than the 380 I would rather go Brembo given it is a trusted name over KSport. For the price of KSport you could almost go a brand new set of Evo X fronts. I have a customer with Evo X fronts and they are mental. I would say overkill to be honest.

Other thing I like about Brembo, they are not Chinese made, yes some Chinese stuff is ok but would I trust the brakes, the 1 thing I need to stop me....NO

Brembo are pretty much bolt on and play as well which is another thing going for them as well as the fact that parts and pads are easily and cheaply available.

Brembo have been manufacturing in China since 2009.

Was not aware of that however again given the range of cars that have Brembo fitted factory compared to say KSport, I would still trust the Brembo over a much lesser brand

Ive had and are currently going to run Evo Brembos on my track built magna, more than enough ! EVO X is definatley overkill haha ..... in sydney theres a wrecking yard that does them for around $700-900 front and rear with disks pads etc...... picked up my full set for $700 so couldnt be happier, however after lines and new T3 disks are added its close to the 2k mark installed.

Arent the Evo 10 calipers the same as the earlier ones but with longer legs to allow for the larger disc ?

Pads are interchangeable with 6-9....... as I have JasonsVRX's old 10 pads on the front of mine.

I assume they are different because they dont bolt up, and theyre 350mm as opposed to 5-9 which are 330mm

Thats right ,they dont bolt straight up as they use a larger bolt requiring the mounting holes to be drilled and retapped..
