Can anyone tell me how common these rims are, or what model came out with these type of rims? My TJ has a set of them but i'd like to get a set for my KR and paint them black or something along those lines

Basically i want to know if its worth looking around for a set or should i find out a more common set

They're an genuine accessory wheel. They didn't come out standard on a particular model, except for maybe the MY01 TJ Solara, but were available from TH-TW models as an accessory. If you see them chances are they were bought at the time of the vehicle's original purchase and fitted at delivery, or part of some dealer pack that was cobbled together. So, not overly common, but you still see them every now and then.

If you're after a more common genuine 15" wheel, the TJ Solara wheel has a nice split 5-spoke design.

Or the TL Magna LS wheel:

Thanks for the info, I might see if I can find a set of more common TJ series 1 VRX rims and swap the 5 spokes over to the KR

Keep in mind the TJ1 VR-X wheels are 16", not 15".

Did the 3rd gen Magna/Verada have different gearing for the speedo for the 15" and 16" wheels, not much in it I know about 3%, my old TF Advance when doing 100 k's by the speedo, the tom tom said I was doing about 97 kph, but with the tom tom in my KH it was spot on to the speedo, made me think all 3rd gens with 15" wheels the speedo will read 100 kph when you're actually doing about 97 kph, is this right? btw I'm talking with factory fitted tyres 205/65/15 and 215/60/16

Most speedos will read faster than you are actually travelling, anything upto 10% from factory depending on manufacturer.
The OD of 215/60R16 tyres are ~2.7% larger than that of 205/65/15, which will likely explain the variance in speedo readings that you are experiencing.

I Put 16's on my th, the speedo was off by 2-3 k, but after swapping out the standard cluster for a blackout cluster from a KH it is dead on.
Also with the original cluster the trip meter in it would fall out of sync with the trip computer at the rate of about 100 meters per 10km's Since swapping to the kh cluster it has been spot on.

Thanks so much for the reply MadPat, that sure answers my question, cheers, merry Xmas
