Hey everyone, well looks like a screwed up. Rego due tomorrow, cleaned off the engine and low and behold i now have a cylinder thats not firing! Front section far passenger side. I have removed the park plug and re attached to the lead and can't not see a spark. Do I remove the distributor and clean with WD 40 in there? is it safe to do so no tricky parts. Or do I leave it for a few hours to dry naturally and see what happens? Rego is due tomorrow.

Probably telling you to suck eggs but,,,
did you also ground the spark plug after attaching the lead?
Hook up a timing light and see if there is HV on the plug.
If the other cylinders fire, then a faulty/fouled spark plug or broken HT lead would be my first port of call.

If all you did was clean the engine then some of the old oil and dirt might have made a short on that lead which might be cracked etc, pull the plug lead and make sure there isn't any oil in the tub (the plug lead will be oiled up) if that is ok follow the lead down to the distributor remove the lead and make sure it looks clean. If that is all ok take the lead to your local cheap shit car parts place and get a generic lead that is the same length as the lead from tip to tip, it's a bit hard to get the generic lead onto the spark plug down the tube in the head but it can be done, plug in the dizzy and if the problem still is present you need professional help.
