Hi guys,
After doing a search it seems that the cables often dislodged on these window regulators.
I am not sure if I am experiencing the same problem, as the window still goes up and down, but periodically on the way up it just gets stuck, however with manual assistance it does go all the way up (there is a specific point at which it gets stuck at).
Anyway, last night it got stuck and I heard a clicks noise (like the cog slipping on the gears).
Does this suggest the cables are gone or some other issue? I was thinking it is not the cables as the window still will go up/down.
Is this another common fault?
I plan on removing the door trim and having a look. Is there anything specific I should be looking out for?
Also, I see there are some aftermarket new power window regulators on eBay. Are these any good? At $150 they aren't too expensive.

Bump....
Also have an additional question, do US Diamante window regulators fit and work with no modifications?
On the assumption that a passenger side window regulator would be in better condition compared to driver side

Great idea! Have a look what it is doing when it hangs up and starts clicking. You may just need to lube the felt channels the glass slides up and down in, or the felt may be dislodged/moved/doubled up or something.

I opened up the trim, had a look, and saw absolutely nothing that struck me as abnormal.
But the clicking has become much worse so it's obvious I will need to replace the regulator altogether

What is clicking?
Have you looked at the felt material the glass slides in?
Have you tried to lubricate things?
Is the glass tipping over as it goes up and down?
Have you tried to adjust the glass if it is tipping over and jamming?

Felt look good.
Did not lubricate things. It sounds like it has stripped some cog so the regulator needs replacing regardless, and will lubricate the new one.
Glass is not tipping, it is as steady as it has always been.
No I made no adjustments

Doesn't need to tip much to cause it to jam - lower the glass, then pull up on the front of it as it goes up. If that helps, the glass needs adjusting.
If it doesn't help, try pulling up the rear as it goes up, and try pushing the front and rear down as it goes down.
Yo could even try to push the glass forward or back as it moves under motor power.
If it makes a noticeable improvement, lube the runners and adjust the glass. I'd hate for you to spend money on a new reg and find it makes no difference.
EDIT: My TJ has manual winders, and the driver one is very stiff at the moment. The others are fine in comparison, so I will be doing the opening up of the door and the lube/adjust work myself soon.
Just looked: with the window 2 cm down, I can wriggle the rear of the glass up and down quite a bit, so some slop in there - it just needs adjusting.

Thanks Max,
I've already put the door trim back.
The glass will go up if I pull on it.
As mentioned though it start clicking so the regulator must already be damaged so if the new regulator has the same issue I will adjust the glass

Mine was doing this and needed manual assistance to fully open/close for about a year, before the cable snapped when I put too much pressure on it. Ended up replacing the regulator with one from a wrecker for $100. Its not that difficult a job to swap over took about 1.5hrs and now its been working well for about a year.

Question for those who know:
Is the clicking noise a sign of failure, or is it an inbuilt feature to protect the cable/electric motor from overload?

The way mine started is it would jam/stall.
Then after a few goes of this (and manually assisting it to go up) it all of a sudden clicked once.
Now it just clicks all the time, so it seems something has been stripped.
I am also wondering whether the new aftermarket power regulators are any good?
