Hi guys,

My car seems to be dripping oil from the distributor. It goes onto the transmission and then onto the exhaust which burns it off.

I replaced the o-ring and it still leaked.
I then replaced the o-ring again, and added RTV sealant and it still leaks.

Is there anything else from the distributor that can leak, or in that general area?

The shaft seal could be leaking. Where is the oil coming out from? Could you post a picture?

I can't even tell where the oil is coming from to be honest.
If I take a tissue and dab it, I can see oil on it.

Would it be leaking between the cap area and the actual distributor unit?

Get some degreaser down there, wash it off, let dry, then go for a drive. When you get back, take the air intake off, including the airbox. This will give you room to get your head in to have a good look. From there you should be able to see where it is leaking from.

I'll degrease and and check but so far I've been unable to locate the leak.

Is the shaft seal of the distributor replaceable?

Run a clean tissue along the rear cylinder head join to the rocker cover, it will soon let you know if it is leaking from there.

It isn't the rocker covers. It seems to be coming specifically from the distributor area. There is a pool of oil under it on the transmission in one of those square blocks the exterior of the casting has

Priority number one is the 'degrease and identify the source of the leak' part of the process at this point.
