Hi everyone,
I have a 2001 TJ Magna VRX and the plastic moulding that runs across the top of the front windscreen needs replacement. I purchased the moulding part number AW340494 from the local dealer along with new plastic clips to suit six of each part numbers MR154126 and MR447505. Has anyone fitted this strip before I'm sure with with a little applied brain power i will figure out how to install it but maybe someone has some handy tips.
Thanks Guys.

The plastic clips fit on pins welded onto the windscreen frame opening.
Unfortunately they are put in place in the factory before the windscreen is glued in, and the plastic clips end up buried in the sealant used.
Do NOT be tempted to dig away at the sikaflex with something sharp to get the old clips out, the slightest nick in the edge of the glass will start off a crack.

My method used after replacing a couple of windscreens is to use clear silastic to glue the strip down. Use enough silastic to fill the gap between the windscreen/bodywork and strip Mask the glass and metal off to catch the glue as it oozes out when you place the strip on the car. Hold in place with masking tape and let set. Then clean up.

Thanks for the info MadMax. The clips that I bought I was lucky enough to be able to get a refund on had only had them for a day so I suppose that helped. For 12 clips was a total of $125 odd dollars so really glad a refund was granted. I shall do what you said and not touch the clips that are still in there but will use silastic as recommended by you. Thanks for the information could have got nasty without it.
