Hi, I have a 2006 S2 VRX which has started to randomly lock itself. Even when driving the car will lock all 4 doors and you can hear it sometimes try repeatedly to lock.

Any ideas where to start looking? I have tried both keys and with new batteries in both but don't think it is the key.

The switch in the driver's door console is most likely the culprit.

Or some other switch in the driver's door.

Or some other switch in the driver's door.

If the design is like the Magna one, it may be the sliding contact type switch inside the door's lock.
To test, shut the doors unlocked, then give the outside of the door near the back of the handle a good thump with your fist. If it sets the lock/unlock off, you know where the problem is.

If it is the area of the problem, pull the whole lock out, locate the switch - it is just a sliding copper strip - clean and bend more tension on the moving bit.
Worked for my TL, problem has gone away since doing this 2 years ago.

DISCLAMER: info based on Magna, the 380 design may be different.

Can i have one of yours?

Seriously, the days of the big V6 are over, it is all about fuel consumption these days. A 2.0L Lancer suits me better these days. Got one, thinking of replacing the Magna with an ASX or Outlander to keep the Lancer company.

380 with lpg is far better than a Lancer Madmax.

no good, no MIVEC
For me, the time to seriously consider a 380 as a purchase and long term keeper, has come and gone. But that is just me.
