i gotta replace my engine mounts, yes all of them (u can stop gasping now).

i was wondering if ne1 had done this on a TP before or had ne suggestions about how to go about it.

i would have the mechanics do itbut i dont have the $700. i barely have the $290 for the parts i need but thats a different story.

Also, i was told by autopro, repco and autobarn that i need 4 mounts (front, back, right and left/gearbox) and an engine damper. ne1 able to shed some light on what/where exactly this damper is???

have you alreadt bought them because someone is selling new front and rear mounts on ebay for 40 bucks each. you should check them out.

the damper is a little shockie that is attached to the side of the engine.. (only on autos) (near the radiator) .... it is sometimes covered by a heat shield as it has the exhaust bracket bolted beside it.
So there should be a shockie and a round mount on the front side.
then a rear round shockie on the backside... near the fire wall.
and of course the 2 large mounts on the front and back of the motor/gearbox.
the Front/rear are easy to change.. jack up the engine slightly... adn then loosen and remove the brackets/replace and tighten .. lower the engine.
the front side and back side ones are a pain to get to but can be done without removing the complete engine..
I cannot remember exactly the procedure but the frontside one it would be remove the shockie and ... support the engine again up slightly....
I think there is a bolt that connects the mount to the header of the exhaust.. so it may need to be undone....
The rear is pretty much the same..
All up it is a few hours work for 1 or 2 people.
you will need a 14mm 17mm in both ring and sockets.... (air gun is GREAT!)
