Yeah i'm knew. So sue me. I'm looking for some advice. I have used the search function so don't kick my ass. I have a '99 TJ magna.
I'm looking for info and some advice. I have read a few threads and seen that there are some hardcore audiophiles here.
I am thinking of getting some of the Jaycar speakers, simply because they are cheap and advertise fairly decent RMS values.
What i need help in is, this will sound stoopid, but what is required in removing the rear parcel shelf. I am just apprehensive about this, as i've only installed one car stereo myself, and well it turned out rather..... broken. But it was my banger car that i bought to "learn from mistakes".
I've read up about the door speakers so that should be cushty and i'm getting someone to install the head unit.
And the standard wiring, i think that will be good enough to handle the power that i am after. Tell me if i'm wrong. I'm looking at 65W RMS 6*9s with a 22W RMS head unit. No amps at this stage. Oh, and some 40W RMS 6" for the front doors. The wires should be able to handle the ~ 4 amps right
Cheers.
The standard wiring should be fine to handle the amount of power the head unit is going to output. :)
As for your speakers, what is your budget? You might find that with your additional MF discount you can get much better speaker for a similar price. ;)

Well i'm looking at spending not much more than $200 on a pair of 6*9's and about $100 on 6"'s. And maybe get an amp to power the 6*9s but i don't know how much i should pay for an amp. And i've been looking at the sony xplod h/u, some dude is selling the cdx 7700 on ebay for $450 which i may get. But if you can offer something better and cheaper, thats fine by me. :D With h/u i do require an aux input so that iPod can be connected, and hopefully the h/u has a bit of power so that i may not need an amp for the 6*9's.
But i'm basically looking for something better than stock at the moment, nothing fancy.
If you want to know what music i listen to, as i see you ask that of ppl, i listen to Punk, Rap metal, emo, hip hop and some r & b so good luck. :D
If you can help me out that would be sweet.
Yeap, that is good. That is what we like to read; someone who gives us all the budget and genre information straight up. :)
How about this:
Vibe SA69 for the rear and Phoenix Gold R6.0COAX for the front? :D
As for the amplifier for the both of them, you could go as low as $400 forma quality unit but remember you'll need cables too. :)

How much do they cost to get them to my door in Darwin? And i see you have Jaycar speakers on your site. What is your opinion on them?
I also looked today at some Alpine speakers, 6*9 3 ways for about $180. Cant remember model number but they had a funky grill on them. Had decent power out of them as well, and a very wide frequency response. is going as high as 30Khz necessary?
And atm i'm not looking for amp. In future maybe get a small sub and amp and then use same amp for 6*9s as well, or is that bad?
But whats the deal with COAX speakers, do i have to replace wiring?
Thanks for our response though. If you can give me prices that would be sweet.
I've emailed you about it. :)
