Hey guys, I'm going to be replacing my Spark Plug Tube Seals tonight and I was just wondering what the Torque specs are for the Rocker Cover?

I am also wondering, does it matter if you use Platinum Spark Plugs in the back three? Can you just use ordinary ones and then change it after 20-40 thousand clicks?

Cheers!

Yes you can use normal ones in the back but you should use premium ones so you don't have to take it off all the time.

Torque specs for the rocker covers is crap all, coming in at 3-4nm. The gasket does all the work, they just need to be done up evenly.

I'm only going to use the normal spark plugs this time because I'm strapped for cash as I've spent almost $400 this week on parts and I've got rego/roady due on Wednesday!

With the Torque, how do I go about the 3-4 nm? On the rench the lowest it goes down to is 25nm I believe :0

Hand tight is fine, just do them up slowly across the 6 of them until they start giving resistance. There is a little bit of room for error before you start crushing the gasket.

Madmagna might be able to offer some tips. I've done a hand full of them and done them this way and haven't had any issues. As long as the gasket is new etc.
