Hi guys,

My ambient temp seems to always show about 4-5 degrees too high.

Is anyone else experiencing this?
Any solutions?

I'm not sure where the temp sensor is on a Magna, but on the Lancer it is hidden behind the front bumper somewhere, and it does tend to read high. Heat radiated up from the hot bitumen, or from other cars' exhausts perhaps?
(Engine off and in the shade it is spot on though.)

Makes me wonder what the ambient temp sensor is for though. So the ECU can control the output from a variable displacement air con compressor perhaps?

Sensor is under Passengers Headlight. You will see the Brown thing near chassis rail. Thats the outside temp sensor.

Ive always found that the outside temp displays always a few degrees higher. Even my Brand New Pajero is the same.

You need to remember heat coming off the engine and what not will always be a factor for temp.

How to get excited over a pic of a Temp sensor...

Well Played!!!

In newer cars the temp sensors are far more accurate and less susceptible to factors like engine or road temperatures.

It seems almost like if it just read about 3-4 degrees less by default then it'd be pretty accurate
