Can any one get me the name and place of a good place in NSW to get my GReddy installed. I checked up with AdvanPerformance and Peter whom i spoke to suggested that the cost to install and tune would be around $800- $1000 mark. So is this a good price or can it be done somewhere cheaper but with good install (nothing dodgy)
If someone here in good ol NSW especially around Sydney could let me know or even if someone here has installed themselves with no probs give me a yell o.k

Look i would tell him to get stuffed, $800 to $1000 is rediculous.
I got mine installed for $200 (its about 3 hours work so this figure would be about right).
Now tuning is where all the money is, the equation is the longer you get the car tuned the better the results you will get. Tuning costs between $120-$200 an hour. They would probably wack your car on there for about 4 hours for that price. I would recommend when u call places find out the hourly charges for the dyno tuning. I only put my car on the dyno for one hour for tuning, this is the minimum, it is however soon going in a again for another hour for a re-tune due to mods i have done after the initial tune. I would recommend spending between 1 and 2 hours on a dyno tune, the extra couple of hours wouldnt yield significant gains on a mildly modded N/A car.
For install and tune i think places should do it for around $400-keep lookin around

RPW installed the unit for $200 that included the unit, injection harness and ignition harness. Speed works then dyno tuned my car at $170/hour

off topic but can insurance companies tell easily if you have a piggy back installed like a e-manage?

Doubtful unless you have the unit mounted on your dash or a laptop on your passenger seat for tuning. I have never known any insurance company to inspect a wiring harness for splicing either. Even if you told them why would they care it's not like you took out your seatbelts like me.(just the back ones, they are heavy and no one rides back there) It may be different here in the US but insurance companies have never said a word about any car I have ever had and none were stock. Heck my Diamante they didn't even go out and look at it. I could have had a 700ci Twin Turbo V12 sticking out of the engine bay with no hood and they wouldn't know.

Anyone can easily tell if they take the panels off near the ECU (passenger footwell) and take a peak. It's going to come down to whether the insurance assessor is cluey enough to recognise that they're not looking at a factory setup.

It's a bit different over here. It can be hard to get insurance on any car whose description contains either Turbo or Modified, particularly if you are under 25.. and you'll almost always pay a huge premium for it. Sure, you could always not tell your insurance company but you run the risk that if you ever have to make a claim it'll be denied. They could easily argue that the performance increase from the piggy back increased their risk and you're obliged to tell them of anything that does this by the contract you sign. And let's face it - why do you have insurance except for when you need to make a claim?

I agree completely but here in the US they are a little more leniant I guess. I have never had my car inspected by an insurance agent for mods. I only made one claim many many years ago but they never even looked at the mods I had they just wrote a check and went on with thier business. What are the speed limits around there, I am just curious. In the US most highways are 65-75mph which is around 120kph I think.

I've never had to make a claim.. they might only ask questions if it's a write-off? I prefer being honest - I've added around $4000 worth of extras onto my policy in the last two years and there's been no premium increase so it's worked for me :)

Speed limits depends where you are.. for most of the country on the open highway the limit is 110kph ( ~ 69mph ). In the NT it is an open speed limit - for now anyway.. people keep trying to change it but I hope they never succeed.
