Hi everyone,

I just replaced my driver side window regulator.
Problem now is that the window does not close properly once the door is shut.

From comparing the passenger side window, it seems that the window is slanted enough such that it meets the rubber seals before the door is closed, hence kind of pushing against and up giving a good seal.

I can see quite a few adjustment points but before I go messing around making things worse I would like confirm what each does.

For starters, the window regulator rail can be adjusted at the bottom to go in/out. What would this be for? I can't see any reason for this other than to make sure it does not bind anywhere on the way down.

I assume that the 2 upper adjustments (top left and right of door) adjust the slant of the window relative to the car, and that the upper adjustments for the regulator rail does the same in a pivot type angle to the former mentioned 2 adjustment points?

The window can also be move side to side, ie, to create a different height between the leading and trailing edge of it, but what would this gain? As there are 2 adjustment points that govern how far each side of the window will go up this also seems somewhat unnecessary other than adjusting it for smooth regulation and to be even with the other 2 adjustment points (such that nothing is out of shape).

Any directions would be welcomed and appreciated

I know what you mean, I have to get around to fix it at sometime, let me know how you get on if you don't mind.

Adjustment procedure is in the manual. It gets complicated.

Needs to be done in the right order, or you got no chance.

I read it but had to repeat it 3 times to get it right.

I got it pretty close... just not good enough.
I was surprised though as all I did was change the regulator. I didn't expect it would need adjustment...

What manual are you referring to?
