Wanting to install some reversing sensors soon on my 380 Has anyone done one themselves? Does the rear bumper have to come off? any issues with supports behind the bumper etc. And any tips? Used the search but not a lot of info anywhere..

I have a brand new genuine Mitsubishi 380 reverse sensor kit you can have for $100 including everything plus instructions.

I bought a set off eBay for $40 and then got it painted and fitted for $200 or so my old Verada. I did the wiring myself. Had no issues until I got rear ended. It is a bumper off job.

It is not a bumper off job at all and is very easy to do with bumper in place.

That's what I was wanting to hear so if I drill in about the same place as the factory ones it's all good

So just did my reversing sensors and definitely no need to take the bumper off.
If you put the sensors in about the same place as factory it all goes very easy nothing in the way and you can then run the cables through the rubber grommet for the number plate light wires.
You can wire the sensor box to the passenger side reverse light (Black and Brown wires) and there is a nice place you can screw it to behind the carpet on that side
Then I just ran a buzzer which I attached under the parcel tray near the speaker which can be heard very easily.
So nice easy job looks factory and you cant see anything out of place in the boot
Total Cost less than $20 from www.AliExpress.com

Good work. Now, if you don't want the annoying beep each time you go from P to D, you can add a delay timer. I did that and added 0.5 seconds delay. I used the same delay timers on wife's outlander and my old Verada for the DRLs so that they don't flicker while starting the car.

Thanks Vlad for the relay link, has anyone tried these electromagnetic reversing sensor ??
If they work good it would be better than drilling !!
