Hi All - my 2005 TW magna went in for a repair to the exhaust and came back with some pretty dodgy looking pipework underneath it. I don't think the workshop put the VR-X AWD exhaust pipework into it and used a modified second hand standard magna pipework. Lots of welding and silver frost.... I was wondering if any kind soul could take a picture of their stock AWD VR-X exhaust system and post it so I know exactly what happened under there. I have looked high and low but can't seem to find a decent picture of what lies beneath. Should have done the work myself of course. cheers!

Well, you know what happened under there . . . workshop took some bits and pieces and cobbled something up. They probably discovered the pipes were rotten more than the muffler/resonator boxes.
Is that what you asked them to do, just cobble something up?
On a standard TL, the exhaust system components are still available as after market bits, bolt on type of job, no welding required. Easy DIY job.
But it all depends on what you asked them to do, and if the parts are available. Lacking clear instructions someone got happy with the welder.
If you want to see what the bits look like, go see your local Mitsu dealer. They will have a parts catalog showing the layout and part numbers. If they don't have the parts available anymore, grab the part numbers anyway and check with a car parts place like Supercheap if after market replacements are available.
Just replace the whole lot. Once the weld job starts falling apart.
The AWD pipework goes down the drivers side of the tailshaft, under rear arms, next to the diff, veers to the drivers side to the muffler. There is a cat and resonator there somewhere.
Here is a thread with photos. Obviously, it has the HM headers installed instead of standard manifold.

That's a pretty neat exhaust system layout, considering a 380 was never designed to be AWD.
The gallant had the same platform as the endeavour which was AWD.

Yes, I know. I have been following the exploits of the ex-AMC member for Tasmania.
Must be nice to have the time, energy and money to import those large parts from the USA and turn a 380 into an AWD. And buy an island off Tasmania. lol

If you looked at the wording in the picture, you would realise that the pictures are from a MAGNA AWD.

That forum is owned by the idiot we recently booted for the 8th or 9th time, Blackstar
That car in the pic is NOT a standard AWD exhaust either, I know that car well.
In simple terms, why does the OP not put a photo of what he has on here or email to me and I can soon tell what they have done or if is any good or not
What I wrote above was based on memory of what I saw under my car while it was getting the front struts die grinded for camber. The post with pictures were just an aid and I had no idea who's car it was :)
