I've got a TP Elite that has a tapping noise coming from the climate control somewhere. I had a TN Elite with climate control and never heard it, but have been in several TP's with the issue. Anyone know what it might be?

Drive motors are used to move various flaps, one of them has stripped gears, at a guess.

It's possible. It will start when you put your foot down on the accelerator and go away when you back off. It will go away altogether if you change the temperature by a degree too. It's pretty weird.

Just an update so that anyone else who has 1st gen Elite with climate control has some idea's.
The fault was the fan motor itself, but this was also coupled with a failure if the vacuum switches that control the vents. There is some power switches in there, that one of the springs failed on and it bridged the circuit. Not sure if it was the cause for the motor to burn out!
I searched high and low for an Elite locally with no joy. I ended up getting a normal fan unit from a TP, that worked OK, but ended up at U pull it for the 4th time in a week, to get the Elite switch block.
Got that and an Elite radio cassette head unit with the remote from the steering wheel just for fun. Installed the replacement vent control unit fired it all up and all worked well. Even got the radio to work via the steering wheel.
If anyone ever replaces the switch block in an Elite, not the numbers on the vacuum lines as they will save you a lot of headache if you remember the sequence. Everything else was relatively soimple to undo.
Cheers and thanks to everyone for the help they provided in sorting this one.
Cheers, Jeff
