Hi all, been a while since i posted for help in here!

Over the last couple of weeks ive noticed a "click" that can be felt through the brake pedal when pushing it to the floor. It was slightly there before the trackday and has progressively gotten more frequent. Happens just before reaching the floor or 3/4 pedal height, but not upon every application.

Brief mention to my mechanic about it and he mentioned something about brake pedal travel. Ive also had a feeling that the master cylinder is slowly on its way out. Booster is holding vaccum

What do we think? Im still investigating further

Thanks!

'clicking' is probably the pads moving about. Do you have the shims behind them?

Simple test for brake master cylinder: Have engine on, or just vacuum available - press on brake pedal, keep foot there. If the pedal sinks slowly to the floor, the master cylinder has an internal leak. Remove. Clean out. Rekit. Or just replace with NEW. (Read up on how to bleed a new one though)

Pedal should never come close to the floor in normal use unless there is air in the system.
(Bleed - if the air mysteriously comes back, it can be a sign of a failing master cylinder, or one that is badly clogged up.)

been running new shims since pad change last year, also bled the brakes on the 12th march(click had just started a week or two before).

might just replace the master anyways(safety precaution you could say)
