The OEM stacker in my 2007 VRX spat out all the discs the other day. After the 1st one came out i tried to play another one and it too came out....one after the other. If i try and put one in it goes all the way in, comes out half way, back in and out again for a few times and then comes all the way out.
Anyone else had this before?

"Failure to load", ie a mechanical problem.
CD players in cars tend to fail unfortunately. Often the first (and only) part to stuff up.

How long have you had the car ?
ARre you trying to load in a spot where there is a disc already and its spitting it out because there is one already...
If you are new to the car ,there is a bit of a knack in loading and unloading the disc

Almost 2 years, 3rd 380. No discs inside, they all came out as it was trying to play each one.
Bugger, guess i'll have to get a new one put in.

perfect time to upgrade to a double din unit which will do so much more than the std unit.

I was looking for a basic unit that plays USB only, but it looks like they're only available in India??!!?? Surely that can't be right?
CD is almost obsolete now and 3-4 64gb USB sticks would get all my cd's ripped and in the car at the one time. Don't need bluetooth because i got rid of my phone about 6 weeks ago. I have a GPS/satnav/ talkie-road-thingy in the car that i rarely use, so a straight USB device would be great.
Don't need 3 to 4 64GB USB, just convert your CDs to MP3 format. A 32GB USB can store approx 6400 5 minute long songs. MP3 format is roughly 1MB per minute of music. You also have to make sure the headunit can handle 64GB USB.

2000+ albums at last count ripped at highest sample rate = way more than 1mb/min per song. Most of them are 7-8mb+
Actually, it would be interesting to see if a solid state drive could be configured to be used as a big usb device. I have a spare at work but need a head unit........put that in the book for a test as soon as a head unit is sourced

The radios without a CD player are often called 'mechless' radios, ie without mechanical mechanisms inside.
Pioneer make some, bought 2 a couple of years back.
Forget using a SSD as a USB stick replacement, unless the instructions for a particular radio specifically state that it is capable of it.
A 64 GB USB stick crammed full of mp3's would take a while to load, and you would need to follow the USB format and file structure described in the radio manual. I find an 8 GB stick holds plenty and loads quickly.
Anyway, the 380 has some things about the physical install and CANBUS factors you need to consider. Do a search on those aspects before you buy anything.

320kbps mp3 file = 2.34 megabytes per minute
128kbps mp3 file = 0.94 megabytes per minute
And I doubt your ears can hear the difference when heard through car speakers. 128 is good enough.
