Hi to you all, new here, so I am hoping someone can shed some light on my problem.
For a dedicated to gas TL ES Magna is there a dedicated Instrument Cluster? The clusters (2) I have tried, the fuel gauge does not work. This car runs on LPG only, it is not a dual fuel car.
Does anyone have any idea why the cluster will not register the amount of LPG in the gas tank.

Because petrol is in liquid state under atmospheric pressure and the float is used to measure how much is in the tank via a variable resistor on the float arm. LPG is liquid stored under pressure. Even a pressure gauge won't be accurate as it will show constant/full pressure until the last drop of liquid vaporises into gas form and then the gauge will slowly drop pressure. This is from direct experience with CO2 cylinders as CO2 is also stored as liquid under pressure.

Edit: Proper LPG senders work on 0 ohm when empty to 90 ohms when full (not sure how it measures the amount of liquid). The Magna's fuel gauge works on the assumption of 2 to 5 ohms when full and 106 to 108 ohms when empty, so completely opposite and slightly out.

On my wife's factory dedicated gas TJ there is a fuel gauge mounted inside the Manchester Gas Tank access panel in the boot of the car. This gauge has two wires which plug into the wiring harness & run to the front of the car -probably to the instrument panel fuel gauge. Check the gauge is plugged into the wiring harness or if the gauge on the gas tank is not displaying a contents reading then the gauge may need replacing by a gas repair workshop.
