Hi guys,

I know there are heaps of threads regarding towbars but information seems all over the place and is not exactly what I am looking for.

From those threads, it understand that the KJ2 has some different parts in the bumper supports or something.

So, my questions:
1. Does a 1,500kg towbar that fits the KJ2 with minimal bumper cutting exist?
2. What is different about the KJ2, and can this part be swapped from say a KH to use a different towbar?
3. What are considered the best towbars? From searched threads Hayman Reese seems to have a good reputation?

Ive got a 1500kg Hayman Reese on my wagon it come out from under the bumper so no cutting was required, ive towed lancers and 3 series bmw with no issues.

Is that a Verada wagon?

The rear setup is different though between sedan and wagon

Is a KJ2 just a KJ?
I recently went about fitting a towbar to my KF which is compatible with KE and KH but not necessarily KJ. I did find a towbar from a KJ which doesn't require bumper cutting but because I wasn't sure if it would work I returned it and got a KF one. The downforce rating on that one was kinda garbage, 70kg I think but it can tow 1500kg. But if it'll fit a KJ2 and you aren't too far away from Brisbane I can look up the wreckers details again

Also note that EVERY towbar will require some bumper cutting. When people say no cutting they mean only cut the underside of the bumper so it's not visible. But yes you still need to cut it a bit. I can remove the tongue on mine and unless you are looking for it you can't tell there's a towbar there

I have one of these on my TL wagon and no bar cut is evident. (dealer fit, I assume).
I installed one on my TJ sedan and didn't need to remove the existing cut out, but movement in the bar made it pop out, so I removed it anyway.

Neither are 'K' models, so feel free to ignore me.

Best you can do is find a model as yours with a bar on it, and check it out.

Maybe someone can post a picture?

Failing that, get a bar and see how you go.

Millenium, it is a KJ2 and from what I read it is the odd one out from all the 3rd gens.
I'm in Melbourne, so not near Brisbane.

I don't want to trial and error it as it's a huge muck around.
