Hey guys, hope all is good.

Just a quick couple of questions...

1) The annoying swirls in the paintwork that almost every car has
It looks like its from when you are washing it but I am always very careful, wash down excess dirt, use clean sponge etc etc to minimalise the dirt

I was hoping that when I polished her (a little while ago) I would get rid of most of it, there didn't seem to be much difference but I don't think I let the polish set properly.

So if I give her a good polish and a layer or 2 of wax should most of it go or only a complete respray going to do the trick?

2) Elec windows, are all the cables (like in the commodores) there even if you don't have elec windows? Is it owrth the effort/money to have a setup put in? I am playing with the idea of having some installed.

I have been quoted from a wrecker about $800 for all the required parts. Meaning four door panels, 3 single switches, 1 master switch panel, 4 motor and winder mechanisms ... basically everything for the conversion using genuine mitsi parts.

1. Yeah a cut and polish is the way to do it but get an expert to do it. If they are done wrong then it only gets worse. Not many people can cut and polish perfectly. Make sure they know what they are doing.

The essence here is cost. Pay big and get some good stuff. Maguires for example. I noticed that my car was getting those sworls in the sunlight and thought meh.. next door neighblour nearly hit me upside the head. Showed me the good oil, Maguires paint clean then Polish then canuaba wax. Make sure you do little areas and spend a serious amount of time doing the polish bit ie rub hard for a long time. Now when I look at my bonnet (half done) you can see lots of sworls on the undone side and you have to get down on a good angle and really try to make them appear on the waxed side.

The three containers will cost a bit and make sure you get applicator pads and a microweave polishing cloth (these items make life really easy - no mucking around with torn pants jocks etc).

Other advantage, use a high pressure gun to wash your car drive home and no need to shammy, perfect finish.
