Ok this isn't exactly a "tech" question, but it does involve fixing the car, and i didn't know where else to post it. The 2nd day i had my P's i tried to park underground at safeway and i misjuged one of those big concrete poles (i avoided parking next to poles for 9 months afterwards, but i'm a pretty good parker now i so dont mind). Anyway theres no dent where the scratches are, i just scrapped along the side. Just wondering what my best option to do here is. i have a tin of paint i got from autobarn (you might be able to tell i've already tried to dab abit on) but it still looks horrible. Is my best bet to sand back the entire handle and then paint again? also with the door i have no idea the best thing for that is, basically they're not deep scratches, they've just taken the layer of blue paint off, so whats hte best way of fixing those? painting along the lines or sand back that area of the door and repaint, i'm a little scared doing that on the door though cuz then the paint wont match the rest of the door :(.
*** EDIT ***
God i'm an idiot i always forget to attach files

dude are the scratches heaps deep? have you tried cut'n'polish on them to try and clear them up abit, if they wer little id tell you to go and get some of the same colour in a nail polish sized thingy and what you do is just dad then whipe it with a rag and then dad, then rag, da then rag and then hit it with a dab of clear coat, iv been doin touchups like that from stone chips on my sis's corrolla and its turned out quite well

the ones on the door arn't deeps, they're just the blue layer of paint, what you said would probably work on those, but the ones on the door handle dig deep.

You own a magna, understandable that you collected the pole. Out of every car Ive driven the magnas have to be the biggest dog to park.
For the scratches on the door I'd be doing the cut and polish and painting with the nail polish idea, it works well...not perfect, but well. The door handle looks pretty deep, might need a tiny bit of bog to fill it out then the paint. If you can get the exact same colour paint it might pay to take the handle off and lightly sand it back, then paint it all as one. But U might as well see how just touching up the scratches goes first before pulling ur door apart.

It really depends on your skill level with using a gun, the door looks like a cut and polish job, but the handle is to be removed and sanded back, fill with bog, sand again, then prime, sand again, tack rag it, then plastic prime, then base coat then top coat, then two coats of clear and finish with a light 1500 wet sand and buff.
If your door has the colour scratched out then I suggest the same for it, if this sounds like to much trouble then take it to a proffesional, cause it does'nt look like much to fix.

you dabbed the paint on?? thats gonna make it look pretty bad, the best way is to spray it on, gives a flatter effect then.
