Anyone got either SSV or Carmate VR-X kit parts? i.e. side skirts, rear bar or front bar? Anyone know what's needed for fitting the front to a TE-TF as opposed to a TH-TJ?

The VRX front is only an extension of the original front bar. You will need a standard TH/TJ front bar to fit it.
The rest of the kit should fit straight on.

Yeah, I knew that this was the case for the factory stuff. Just wanted to make sure this is the case with the copied stuff. I think it's funny that we're supposed to have over a thousand members and there's obviously a market out there for this stuff but no one on here has used either of these products.

I recommend u get the SSV rear bumper pod opposed to a genuine mitsu pod, the SSV piece is 1 piece as where the mitsu 1 isn't, just looks a little nicer without the lines on the bumper

TheDifference had an aftermarket VRX front on his TJ, not sure who made it though.
But he has since swapped front bars with WaTCHME.

I've seen the SSV VRX kit up close and its a very well made kit really. You will need a TH / TJ front bar for it to bolt on other than that everything else is fine.
VRX Kits rock, love mine to death.

i got a full vrx kit (copy)
got my sideskirts from ssv, rear skirt directly from the manufacturer (ssv dont make the kit, someone else does.. not sure who though). and front end swapped with thedifference. believe he got his front end from ssv.
the front of the vrx kit doesnt fit on a te-tf because the bumper is a different shape. Its only 140ish for a new bumper skin anyhow. You only need to paint the top half of the bumper. Skirt covers up the rest so that would reduce respray cost a lot.

my front end may have been from ssv, i dunno. the guys that put my front and rear (scoresby panels) sourced it from somewhere, but i have nfi! btw, anyone in VIC, dont use scoresby panels, they suck donkey balls.
just out of interest, how much are ssv and the other mob asking for full vrx kit?

Like watchme said, a new front skin is only $140, knock yourself out dude.
Plus when you get your new vrx front, to respray up your old bar will generally cost more if it is stonechipped or cracked, but with a new bar you just hand it over and pick it up when its done, and fit it yourself.

With working onsite for the last four months, my cars bonnet has several stone chips so I think I'll be doing a bit of painting

Yeah it's hard not to get stone chips, I suppose if they made a paint that could'nt chip then it would send painters out of business. lol

Sydney. So, what's the difference between the skin for the TE-TF and TH-TJ? There's nothing behind it that's needed too like clips and stuff or do you just get the skin from MMAL / wreckers?

Check out the pic mate, these are the most obvious I've noticed there maybe other subtle ones? :)

Thanks, Phil. I'll compare that to my bar tomorrow. So, how does this all work with fitment of the VR-X bar? I thought there would be something different above the black stuff and bellow the actual bumper portion.
TheDifference

the VRX add on parts fit over where the black part starts, and continues to the bottom.

Redav, I speak from experience as I have just put on a new tj bar, it sticks out further then our te bars, the whole bar is different, you dont see it much until you actually change over the bars then you realise how different they really are, but all the mounting brackets etc will fit the tj bar, it's just the fog light section that wont fit, so purchase those plastic bits and the supports for them if you wish, but it dont stop you installing the rest of the bar, I just meshed mine over to hide the holes, will eventually buy them.
With the vrx front bar it might fit over the te bar, but it would be a better fit on a tj bar considering that the tj bar does stick out more in the top section so would cover over the bottom section better.

Yeah, good point. Think I'll keep an eye out at the wreckers, paint it black and fit it.

what about a TH front bar?
Would on of them work?

Pete.. how much is it worth for the skin?
heydude

Yeah the TH bar is basically the TJ bar so it will fit.
The skins are worth $140 from ozeparts if you mention AM.
