Ive been meaning to ask someone about this for ages now but completely forgot about it..

When i turn the car off, (as in unclick the key out), my headunit will stay on for about 5-7 seconds then turn off.
Unless the headlights are on or im using the cigarette lighter to power something.

It never did this with the stock HU, and im pretty sure it did this with panasonic HU i had in for a few months.. i think..

Is there a capacitor wired in doing this or something??

Anywho, i just wanted to know if this is a magna thing or just my headunit.. Other people i know with the same HU dont have this unusual luxury. And it says nothing in the manual about it..

Im not complaining at all, its actually quite nice to have the music still playing as i get out and walk away from the car.

have u added anything to the car since? ie car charger, or anything wired up that would draw current and make it stop doin it?

Yea cause i know that if there is a power source Still On other than the headunit itself (eg. headlights or cig lighter power thingos), the HU wont turn off after a delay.

Seems to be panasonic has this affect, judging from what people are saying on here.. But it never happens with the same HU in another persons car. Ive got a Sony one now, and its delayed aswell (but does not in other cars)..

very odd

No you're not the only one, mine does the exact same thing. BUT, somehow i've rigged it so that it will delay, but all i have to do is turn my gfx equaliser off (it runs on perm 12 volt) and the HU switches off straight away. So if my EQ is off when i turn the car off, the HU wont delay. i must have used the same wire or something

My pioneer HU stays on for a few seconds then turns off.
