Can anyone recomend any kits or build up a good handling set up for the awd but dont know about lowering 1 because the wider track on it make the rims i have (speedy longchamps x 7.5) sit level with guard edge front tires 235s stick out apx 5mm. Any suggestions!

bump up the preload on your springs. oh i forgot, you don't have adjustables, in that case, just go get another set of springs that have a higher preload! and you'll get stiffer handling.

What sized rims are yours ? I heard that the AWD cant handle 17" rims, is this true?

Been away for work, so just got back to reading forums. Yer 17 x 7.5 speedy longchamps fit nicely (mitsi dealer even had them fitted for me) They do sit out even with the guard edge looks WIDE ! :)

think the biggest problem is weight rating of tyres, and the original size max of 18" legally. If the 95W rating is avalible HATE to see how much !!! :slap:

I dont know! Reguardless of a wheel/tyre combo, if the overall rolling diameter is the same the the physical size is the same whether it be a 195/78R14 or a 225/30R20 (examples only, just clutching at straws here people) but yer there should be no difference. Dealership (mitsi) in adelaide are fitting 17 x 7.5 to the magna fwd and awd like mine i just said i like this well this tyre and came the next day to pick it up. Fully roadworthy and CGU insured.

Apparently not a matter of phsyical size of wheel/rim.
MMAL has sed that it wont approve bigger/wider rims (over the standard 16x6) as they transmitt extra shock through suspension parts and may cause the rear steering knuckles to crack over time. (apparently thats wot happened on some of their long term testing).
So it seems u can fit 17x7's etc if they fit... Just that Mitsu wont approve it on reliability grounds.
TL AWD is a bit different... not sure how different though.
KW GTVi AWD actually comes with 16x7 rims.
[And it seems to me, that if u change/lower ur suspension... your voiding warrantee on suspsension parts (ie steering knuckles) anyway. So what they heck...]

I dont know for sure, but all i know is that when the rims were originally fitted buy Australian Motors Mitsi here in Adel. The tyres they fitted were 94s not 95s so they tried to get the car replacarded but MMAL said no but fitting the right tyre weight/rim combo and it will be fine. The dealer said as long as the weight rating is enough they stand by it and its on the original puchase order that they were fitted, so there is no dispute. :bowrofl:

My 17 x 7's fit for the following reasons:
* I haven't lowered the rear (or front) so the tyre rarely ( ) scuffs the suspension arm
* I have concave rims which maximise the distance from the studs to the suspension arm
* You can't have more than 6" from the studs to the suspensions arm.
See the pic for details of critical measurements. If someone can make a better suspension arm angle (for better tyre clearance) you can sign me up now!!!

get your guards flared out a bit!!! it'll look tough as!!!
Or get some wheel arch flares like the VRX/Sports Wagons have.
But back to the original question at hand I found an amazing difference from having lowered springs, front strut brace & rear sway bar fitted to my old TJ Exec.
