Dang. I parked my car lastnight and the headunit started making strange whiring noises like it's loading a CD. So, I change sources, go back to the CD player and it's still doing funny things. I eject the CD but when I go to re-insert it, it doesn't want to take it. It's like the drive either thinks there is already a CD in there or it can't detect that there is a CD being inserted.

It's a Panasonic CQ-DF800W. I'm yet to come across anyone with one. I've had it for just on two years and it's been looked after.

Anyone got any ideas or suggestions for what to do?

It's not the end of the world as I have a stacker as well but I've lost the convenience of loading a CD there and then.

Regards,

Umm - do you have a dealer there that does repairs - might be worth taking it in to them.

Does it have a reset button? My old Sony had a little reset button behind the faceplate that you pushed in with a pin/pencil/pen/etc. for things like that.

Hey man - if u have a computer read out in the car - trip computer in dash - then u may lose that but that is all - leave it D/C for maybe 30 mins - the trip computer will ask if it is a 3L or a 3.5L manual or auto - so let it know which ones and then u are all good!!

Magnas have the same thing, it doesn't hurt your car it just needs to remember how you drive - only takes a short time to re-adjust it - just take it for a drive like you normally would and it should be fine.
