Thats a whack looking dyno dude!!
It looks like it was done in 3rd?? Correct?? Huge Torque figures!!
What mods do u have??

Looks like a nice gain. Noticeable?

hehe, nah its easy to understand when u get it explained to you.
i got a muffler and air filter
yeah the torque is heaps noticeable.
I video taped 1 of the runs. ill post it up sometime soon.

Hmm - cos I pulled 119.6 yesterday with only a muffler.

must be the pod that made the difference

If you look at run 1 - he only pulled 116!! that is 3.6 less than mine (i know different dynos read different results)
And it shows a good increase of 5kw from the chip!!

every dyno is different. like in fastmagna project magna apparantly runs 124kw with the only difference being a different cat. Plus his cars an auto 3L. So its hard to tell unless you put all cars on the exact same dyno.
The dyno my car was run on was used by toyota to tune the new corolla sportivo. Apparantly its different to normal dyno's because it measures conditions such as humidity and baromeric pressure (most dyno's dont consider this which plays a big part)
but yeah it was strange. I thort i had more power.

Well at least you can see your power increase!!

yeah. I think best way to tell a cars true power will always be on the strip.

I wouldn't say the cars power - but the cars / drivers ability!!
But I agree!!

damn lucky i got the unichip done before the kit. Kit would have been destroyed on the dyno

Yeah i seen some kits come very close yesterday when they went onto the dyno!! almost scraping!!

.
I dont know who told you that but any good dyno will correct the reading for the weather conditions.
So what was the gain of the Unichip ? what other mods your car have ?

so your telling me for $1300 you get 5kw's ?
what is the car 3.5 manual ? damn im lucky with my power output for a 3 with just exhaust and panel filter then... but then again i dont play with worthless stuff like pod filters .... just thought id throw that in
I met up with Gamisou today,
95% of dyno's have fudge factor where they bump it up a few KW to account for conditions,
this is the most accurate dyno in melbourne.
hence it gives real readings and not ones pulled out of some1's ass

widowmaker: ok, the max power gain was 5kw. However the torque increase was a whole lot more. The reason for a unichip isnt just to boost peak power. its to smooth out the power curve and help keep max power for the longest possible. If you look at the dyno sheet u'll notice my peak power lasts for a whole lot longer than my peak power did stock. Unichip was well worth the cash.
like v64 said, most dyno's dont actually calculate the power considering conditions, they just put an approximate factor in. If you dyno the same car in winter, then in summer, normal dyno's will show a different power output. This dyno though showed the exact same power output
v64: was nice meeting ya. You forgot to mention how nice my car sounds tho :D

Looking at the chart the original dyno run looked smoother untill peak where the new one looked slightly smoother. Still when i got my car dynoed the power curve so so bloody linear that you couldnt possibly smooth it out more so all id be doing is getting it for peak power.
As i said not many dyno's these days dont have correnction , maybe some older back yard jobs might not but any respectable workshop will have a dyno that can.
Btw where you running 19inch rims on the dyno because that would of increased your torque reading alot

why would it increase the torque more. The overall diameter is exactly the same as the stock wheel. Yeah all places have correction. However its how they come up with the correction value which is in question. most places dont actually calculate a correction value is what im trying to tell you.
yeah u too man! :)
exhaust, interior, sound system... what else rocked about his car... oh yeah EVERYTHING! :)
im so jealous
can i have ur car... pleeeeeassseee? [-o<

Hey dudes gotta question;
Hypothetical.... ;)
Take 2 identicals cars putting out identical pwr outputs at the flywheel.
But one baby has 15 inch rims, the other 19 inch rims....
Put both puppies on the exact same dyno one after the other (for this example the conditions are exactly the same), the question is....
would the car with 15 inch rims make more at the wheels compared to the one with 19 inch rims?
Thanks for your help! :D
Manual

If the rolling diameter of the two different wheels is the same than they should make the same power.
Larger rims / lower profile tyres.

this was conquered in a thread in mogwa (i think, maybe here) and it had a heap of stuff to answer this question.... do a search on wheels in both and it should yeild something....
i'd love to go through all the shit that we discussed but its depends on how and where the weight is distributed referenced to the wheel axis... - to cut short, more weight futher from the axis takes more power/torque to drive..........

It all depends... not really true on that, you have to take into account the wheel's weight as the weights plays a part in the inertia and that in turn also make the dyno read more or less power from the inertia....

Yeah forgot about the weight thing. Well i did a weight comparison of my rims with my stockies. Stockies are heavier.

Appreciate it ;)
