Hi guys was thinking of poloshing the intake mainfold , found out it would cost around $300 (I thought it would be more) do you think its worth it? just wanted to get your thought on this, no power gains but looks awsome.

Depends if u like to shot it off!! u need the bonnet open an awful lot to warrant 300 bucks for a shiny part of the engine bay!

Id do it. Its the centrepiece of the V6 motors.

But it depends how often you open up your bonnet to show everything off.

and how much you drive it around, cos if you drive it much, im sure it would stain quite easyly :D

Manifold?

Dont you mean the intake Plenum? Because you can't really see much of the manifold...

The alternative is to do somethign a little different.

RPW has had our top half plenum chamber powder coated red to match all the red vacuem and turbo hoses in our car (And strut brace and brake rotors).

Or alterntivly we could get the intake manifold HPC ceramic coaetd in the silver aluminium look which would have benefits of reduced heat transfer at the same time.

That saves hours of polishing and would probably cost only around $200.00 to get teh whole manifold either powder or ceramic coated.

I use to be a powder coater and why cant you do it in gold? :?

We did all sorts of engine parts from carbies to blocks and it looks awesome 8)

If any one wants any thing powder coated let me know and i will see what i can do for you :D

I don't know a lot about powder coating and what colours are available so bear with me on this one.

What I will do though is that since we have a spare intake manifold we can provide a unit on exchange done to any colour you wish so that is something we can set up no problems.

The HPC coating is a good options as well.
