I have an amp running a sub and I can power the rear 6x9 or the front 6". Which ones should I power? The ones that don't have power off the amp will be running off the deck.
Any sugestions?

id probably go the 6" as the bass is already coming out the sub and powering the 6x9's will just give more bass. definitly the 6"

Def power the the fronts. They will make heaps more difference than powering the 6x9s.

Power the fronts for sure. The rears are only rear fill anyway so these will be fine powered by the deck.

yeh def power fronts u really dont need 6x9's if ur running a sub but whatever floats ya boat really
i know im gunna run 6" 2-ways in place of my 6x9's on ce i get my sub
You're sitting at the front and your ears face forwards so why bother amping the rear speakers?

Rear speakers just add a bit of fill. They make the sound seem a little more surround. If you have a sub I wouldnt bother but its personal pref really. Ive got splits in the back but they're only on when theres people in the back or Im watching a movie. The staging is all over the place when they're on, but its good for movies.
Whenthe car's front splits are staged, imaged correctly and feed serious power you will get the sound around you. This is why many competition cars only have front splits and a sub. :)

I have powered the front speakers and the sub in the boot, and the 6x9 are running off the deck. I finally have the sound I was after!! Thanks for your input, it was good to check with you guys first.
