a mate who was lookin at buyin my car wants to know how much a reco auto / secondhand would cost and how hard they are to fit???

for a recon your looking at $1300 up installed
2nd hand can range from any price most wreckers would charge $300 up but wouldnt be expected to last a great deal of time, some wreckers might have 3-6month waranty

I got quoted $600 for a reco'ed one from the wreckers, and that was without fitting.

As for fitting yourself, provided you have the correct equipment and knowledge, you should be able to do it yourself, might be worth investing in a Gregory's Manual to help you out. :cool:

i recently got my auto done and it cost $1500... but the gear changes are so good now lol

Someone may be able to help you with this but I was told when I had my TM Elite to replace the KM175 (TM/N carby auto) with a KM177. Supposedly you can do it by changing the plugs and running the original computer.

I know for a fact you cant put a 175 into a car that had a 177. The di*khead that had my Safari wagon before me tried this and wondered why it wouldnt move :P
