Does anyone know if a TJ air conditioner compressor will fit a TE???
Mitsu says there a different part number and so wont fit, but a different part no: does'nt mean it wont fit.
Anyone know???

if your TE is a 3.0L, which i think most were (???), then it probably wont fit, as most TJ's are 3.5. See if a local wrecker has one of each and ask if the have Zacharies desease.
Zacharies desease: They are Zachary the same!

why can't you replace it with another compressor suited for the 3.0L engine? Surely there can't be any performance differences between the two compressors. Unless you've somehow managed to get a donor 3.5L Magna.....

I dont think people are seeing my point.
My compressor is dead.
I can buy one from a wrecker from a TJ cheap for $195.
Or get a reco from $500.
Or a new one from $1000.
So if the TJ one will fit well then I would buy that instead and have it installed for a much cheaper price, so that's why I need to know if they would physically fit in.

Dude,
I think the problems are:
A) Not all of us have a TJ and a TH to compare.
B) Most of us won't bother taking the compressor of the TJ and putting it onto the TH to compare if they will fit.
Your best bet would be to get the compressor from the wreckers and possibly the engine brackets ... on the proviso you can return them if they do not fit.
If you get the brackets as well ... I suspect it will fit.
heydude think you will find if it dont fit
the wreckers will give your dough back
just stress this when you get it

Oh and don't forget ... you'll need to regas the system. That will add to the cost. :(
