i dont know, 4cyl TRs start round that price these days, although the manual could be a challenge.
Off topic, but how much u reckon i could get for my 1995 TS GLX 4cyl Manual? its pretty straight with tints and $500 alarm system? cant be too much can it?

Hunt around you'll find a cheap manual 2.6 for your budget, but your chances of finding one with that lower K's mgiht be a bit slim

yer i know kb, i mean i will hunt till i find one but seeing its going to be put under alot of stress i would like to find something with minimal k's, but the hunt will go on

what i really want (fat chance of finding but) is a tr 4 cyl with 100,000km driving by a granny, in manual painted black for like 3k

but we can all dream aye?

You could get a 4cyl tr for that price easily, theres always heaps for sale in the trader and advertiser. But finding one in good condition still in the 100thou k bracket may be hard as they are getting pretty old now and theyre not exactly to type of car most people look after.

You could try the auctions like i did as there was about 4 other tr/ts's when i went there. Although all the others had alot higher ks and i think all were auto. Mine was a bit of a fluke though being manual and only 100900ks and had obviously been looked after by previous owners.
But going the auction way may still be out of ur price range as the total bill after fixing mine and getting it regoed was just over $5000.

well my engine has only done 60,000 (had a new engine put in, brand spanking new and not a recon!)

its an auto, but some people here have done a manual conversion on 2nd gens successfully and cheaply.....

I bought my immaculate, TR 2.6L Manual Magna with 170,000kms 2 years ago for $4000 and it is really in excellent/mint condition. You could easily pick one up for under $4000 now. I saw a black 3L 2nd gen Verada sell for $2900 in June with 155,000kms at an auction so it can be done. They rarely have 2nd gens at the auctions but try there first.

I paid $4000 for mine at a dealer, it had 250k km's on the clock. High km's i know but the car runs fine and being from a dealer RWC and REG were included :D.

If yer so inclined search the web (google) for "magna" you will get to a site that is reportedly tied to every classified lister in the country and then it cross references.
Don't go to the ebay lists tho..not so great

I forget the name but it's description says it's Australia's largest online advertiser, some of them even have photo's. Do a search by price and car type and ... presto you will find a list of heaps of them
presto ya get what ya want. I spent two weeks and ended up with a KR Verada for $3500
and 175,000 k's ended up paying 2750 for it but be aware you will then spend $ to get it up to scratch. Tip: expect to get what you pay for. We have spent about $600 and still have a niggly electric problem that looks like a computer replacement ($220 s/h)

Good Luck....

i picked up my TS for 8500 but it had full service history, imaculate condition not including a small nick on the front of the bumper, 64000kms, and a one old lady owner since brand new...seems like the only time she drove it was to the doctors and the shops..the furthest its drivin is up to kalbarri (W.A dudes would know the distance, bout 6hrs i think??). Already had a certain amount of tint on it aswell. All i have to do is get an alarm and install central locking then i can put some real stuff inside! She was only selling it because she had a leg problem and could no longer drive a manual anymore :D

btw price was prolly a tad too high but my dad bought on impulse since it was such a nice car...later to proclaim how pissed off he was that he didn't barter this lady down.

anyways my advice would be to keep shoppin around the good deal mate coz it'll pop up one day n you'll be happy that you waited!

Goodluck

Why do i keep hearing about TS's without central locking? my brothers one came with it stock, and well my TR has it but it also has an alarm so i'm guessing it was rigged up after factory, but i thought all TS would have it

I picked up my TR just over a year ago for $3600, that had about 170k on the clock, it was a 2.6 manual, and was in perfect condition.. i sold it in may for about 2k, with stuff done to it... i dunno if that helps
