View Full Version : Cost of boot respray
Hi All,
Ive managed to get my hands on a TL Verada bootlid with matching verada lights all for the princely sum of $0..
What would be the cost of respraying a white lid to sienna red..
Couple hundred at the most?

They don't have any more spare Verada lights they want to get rid of do they? :D
They don't have any more spare Verada lights they want to get rid of do they? :DNot sure.. But id doubt it..
Even if you got the verada lights, they would be defectable without the reverse centre lights in the boot..
Like Watchme.. his is currently a defect without reverse lights..

you can fit the bulb in the same area as the indicators as the lens are clear :D
Or if your really nifty, get the LED lights, change LEDs with the multicolour ones that change colour with varing voltages, setup the circuit so that indicators send enough voltage for an orange glow, and reverse with correct voltage for bright white light.........this isn't going to happen is it? lol

550 was quoted for silver for boot and rearbar. although every paint shop price is different but going off my price should be no more then 300.....
Good pick up Bain, but now I hate you cause I want to do the same thing and it's going to cost me a fortune for a TL boot and tail lights, but I also want to do the bumper, shop around a few panel shops for a price but cheapest is not always the best, and the difference I don't think he'll go for the GT wing as he want's the NO WING look (well so he told me anyway)
and out of interest what colour is it now

Its currently white at the moment.. I'll go and talk to the panel shops.. Maybe i can do the sanding back and stuff to make it cheaper. (and off the books)
There is a place i got my lantra done when someone side swiped me.. Probably go back there. They were pretty good.
And don't forget we want pitcures when it's done but dont put the oversized tri diamond on I think their too big, but make sure you put the VRX badge back on

i had the bootlid painted on my old TR a month ago before i sold it for $80 ... was done by a professional so it was no dodgey backyard job

This is the funny thing, I had my whole bodykit painted, a rear bar repaired and painted and a new tj front bar painted all for $500.
So really it pays to shop around for stuff.
But I had to take off the bar and stuff and fit it all up so that takes some cost out, do what you can and save some money so you can mod other things.

Depending on where you go but honestly it shouldn't cost you anymore than $250 - $300 for a good job. My front bar is going in for a respray next week and that is only going to cost me $250. Im having some other work like my door handles colour coded and in half minds deciding whether to ditch the VRX wing... decisions decisions.

ditch the wing. they r ghey.
ditch the wing. they r ghey.word nigga!
If you ditch the wing Blake you may find its cheaper to buy a new one.. I got a few quotes and they cant just bog it up, they have to spot weld some metal to the 5 holes, undercoat and respray..
You should beable to get a new one for less i reckon.

where did u get that done?
im finally going to get my rear bar repaired and resprayed soon. Probably overkill for the minimal damage but it happened when my friend ran into me in her $30 000 Saab, no damage to her car. I have been nice and let it go for a while but i find out she has been buying $400 jackets so she can get ****ed and get my car fixed perfectly!

It was done around the corner from me, out in the sticks.
About an half an hour from Toowoomba, probably why it was so cheap.
