Ive been hit with a problem many others are faced with, the search for new music to pump through thier car speakers. Now outside of my car, Im into heavy rock, metal usual...but as soon as I let my stereo boot-up it HAS to be trance, something with nice bass and big beats, and my current compilation has been warn a bit thin, so I need soem new suggestiosn for music to get, i really like ambient tracne, but really anything is good, im open to all suggestions, as long as they arent too cheesy.

Fire away...

you'd be looking at old school gatecrasher albums like blue/wet, or discotheque. the new gatecrasher stuff (once they started with the 3 cd albums) have become abit too comercial/housey for my liking. also look into breakbeat - kid kenobi, stanton warriors, and the hybrid breaks series.

Yeah, gatecrasher is a goldmine for aweosme trance, but also a goldmine for awesome pieces of crap, Ive been getting into Yahel and Aira force a bit, but they are hard to come by.
Thanks for the insight :)

When i first got cable internet in.. wow 2000... i spent my downloads on... downloading everything Trance dance and the like... then i kinda got busy, spent more time Out than ont he computer (ahh love having a life,... hehe) and now i have no idea what songs have been released...

I used to know everything.. at a club... i could name a song before it came on... (but then again who couldnt, they play the same thing everywhere) but alas, i am not longer a techno freak...

Im listening to more italian rock, coldplay and oasis...

Hybrids early stuff was amazing.. i loved it...

Now, although it aint that bad.. it still hasnt impressed me like their first released songs did..

2000 was when alll those talents came out. now most of them retired or became producers and dont Dj much.
so there are a lot of new faces, although if you check most of the discography they have beeen around ages as well, but we forgotten.
+ a lot of different genres have evolved as well.
Hybrid isn't really breaks anymore, it's more a fusion of breaks, progressive and softish trance.
did you know that most of their tracks are done with a live band??? (usually a 12 piece string section)

and a lot of people still reckon electronic music is computer generated noise.
:)

wow access 31 has live dj's on tv, and dance music.. haha!

Love watching people Out of it... on drugs... having the time of their life.. even when the song stops for like a second or two of silence....

BT was absolutely furkin awesome at Two Tribes!!!! one of the best 2 hours of my life!!!! the guy had 3 turntables, 2 keyboards, and a laptop, as well as the usual gear..... sittin on a swivel chair so he could slide to each section. halfway through his set the power went out for 5 seconds, but he came right back on and restarted everything again, with no one really noticing. the man is a genius.

oh and i also just saw Faithless live last night.......... beautiful, just beautiful. its a pity Sister Bliss wasnt there, but Maxi made up for it. The guy just has sooo much energy!!!

i've never really seen anything flash in faithless, but i would have gone see him if my half witted friends would rather listen to something that makes sense than stupid ****ing RNB...

Ive got nothing against any genre of music. I mean everyone likes different things and i can respect that.

Me personally have grown up on Hip hop and especially RnB, real RnB not your typical spin offs like usher and ja rule..
RnB's always been soothing to me, perfect when cruising and with a nice beat to play through your system.

Im sure theres more music out there that 'makes sense' or has a higher meaning, but RnB is the soul of african culture. I will admit alot of it has morphed into sh*t that is made just to sell records. Which is why lately i have been sticking more to hip hop and a bit of rap. But alot of it still stays true to its originality.

But like i said, everyone has their own taste.

number one, i like all music that is good... i like oasis, i like jet i like ferry coreston van arrmin hyrbid, even adrea bocheli, classical music!!.. used to like usher and eminem and craig david blah blah blah... and the rest...

but rap and rnb has really gone down hill in my opinion...

it takes no talent to add beets and bass in repetive style and ryme some swear words, talk about his *****es and how big his dick is.
I used to listen to a lot pre 2002 rap/rnb i think was the year.....

now everyone has an rnb album and everyone has a rap album...

I meen its not just about meening... its the way the song is put together...

Think about it... Who here can sing at least a chorus from The beetles?

how old are they now? what close to 3000 years old?

now do you think any of the songs (current) will be remembered in say in even ten years time?

One song that definetly wont...is...

MY MILKSHAKE BRINGS ALL THE BOYS TO THE YARD.... no talent loser.....

What im trying to say, is that no i am not one of those people that go... DOWN WITH COMMERCIALISM, but i understand where they are coming from.....

id say 70% of the songs released now days arent worth listening to and the other 30% will be forgoten after a few months..

Sorry for the speech but ive been brought up in a kinda musical family, and its a shame that quality music is hard to find these days.... they all seem to copy one another.. and you know what.. in high school.. copying another ones work was classed as cheating.. and you were expelled....

I agree totally with ya man, no arguement from me.

like i said, theres true RnB/Rap around still, and theres pop **** thats made to sell singles to 13 year old girls.

but thats life.. everyone has their own

i totally agree with magnaman, most of my friendsdont care about the music all they care about is the chicks, RNB attracts ****s (in crown anyway) and that's apparantly the best place on earth.

i appreciate black music a lot. the ones that makes sense, nice rythms with nice beats not Ja Rule, kelllis and other commercial crap.
i have also noticed a lot of kiddies in raves, Nrg clubs, etc..., and i know why "it's cool to take drugs and go hard"
over the years i have seen a lot of change, but the RNB (club) scene has stayed the same.

i seriously rather listen listen to Britney and Chritina. i least i can blame it on the pop culture :)

OMFG!!! someone else has noticed!!! i hate the whole "I cant dance/appreciate the music unless i am tripping off my nut" attitude. that is BS, the drugs were created to help you stay up when you are at a 12-18 hour event, not so you can sit in the corner for 7-9 hours with your head in your lap. oooh it makes me sooo angry. i know some people that only go, just to pop, but hate the music........ i mean, why dont you just stay at home, drop one and turn on Rage? I also hate the morons that turn up in flannies and/or Jim Beam tshirt, HSV Cap and Blundstones........ yeah! right on, ravin - bogan style!!!!

Bring back the Docks i say!!!!!!

/end rant

btw, i'm not biased, i also love Robbie Williams, Frank Sinatra, Chilli peppers, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Bone Thugs, Live, Coldplay, Jimmy Barnes, Sheryl Crow, BlackStreet, Lauryn Hill, & Ronan Keating...... to name a few. But i HATE house, it makes me angry.

ROFL
well said.
i have been to a rave (TT) with 2 unknown individuals dressed like that.
how ****ing tragic, thank god i was in my world and i was enjoying it.

gone are the days of dressing up well and attending a mini(not really) ball full of great music and quality.

Another vote to for the Docks
that's the meaning of a rave. :)
