When i start up my car and idling it there is like a winding/whining sound that i can hear and when i accelerate it gets louder...but once my engine is warm the sound is gone. The lady i bought it off said something about it and gave my dad a belt or two and said she just kept changing them (i wasn't there when he bought it). i was wondering if anyone first of all knew what the noise is, and secondly if they know how to eliminate it

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, but dont all our 2nd gens make that sound on cold idle? i know mine does, and every other 2nd gen i've heard does too, kinda sounds like an electric saw? or maybe you're describing a different sound :confused:

thats what i was asking if it was normal or not...its kinda hard to describe

most 4cylinder magnas have a very distinctive whine. dont know if thats what your talking about tho.
