hey guys, im about to wire up my system, but i am having trouble running the 4GA cable through the firewall.. On my TJ i put a slit in one of the rubber grommet things where the wiring loom goes in and ran it through there, but when i do the same to my TH i cant seem to get the cable in more than 30cm, then i cant find it behind the dash.. Where have you guys ran your power cables?. cheers.
On my TF I ran the cable up the right hand side of the engine bay (if standing at the front of the car) In through a grommet which led into under the plastic cover in the wheel well. I removed the plastic cover (then replaced it after finished) and fed the cable through another rubber grommet which led into under the glove box. From there I ran the cable down the right hand side of the car.
*Important note - the second grommet needs to be re sealed correctly and water tight as it is in the main gutter from the windscreen (Yes I did lern the hard way)
(Oh and I was running 0 gage at one stage through these points, and changed to 2 gage after a re install)

i wish you told me that 3 months ago.. It took me that long to work it out.. I only pulled apart all my stereo install stuff and found the plug thing about a week ago, then drilled a big hole in it and fed the cable through.. No more leaks :D
I feel blonde.
hehe, since mine was an ex cop car, they had drilled a gaping big hole, good enuf to fit 4 guage cable thru, where the clutch pedal was supposed to go :D lucky me
problem is...i have no idea what i should do if i want to get 2 or 0 guage cable
